2008 GENERAL RULES FOR ALL CLASSES

The rules set herein are designated to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for events. These rules shall govern the conduct, and the conditions of all race track events. By participating in these events all drivers are deemed to have complied with these rules.

No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules. They are intended as a guide for conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participant, spectators or others.

Any driver, car owner, or mechanic who takes part in any demonstration or fight on the track, in the pit area, or on the surrounding premises, before, during or after the races shall be subject to suspension. Until the suspension is lifted, no car or driver will be permitted to compete if associated with the suspended person or persons (NOTE: Abuse, assault, or threat to do bodily injury to any track official or persons serving under his/her orders, by any driver, car owner, crew or mechanic shall be grounds for suspension). A suspension from any MSPA track will also be reported to and honored at all MSPA tracks.

IN ORDER FOR WINNERS TO BE PAID, AFTER GOING THROUGH TECH, THEY MUST GO TO A DESIGNATED SPOT BEHIND THE GRANDSTAND TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 MINUTES.

1. All cars that line up for the A-Main may be required to take an alcohol test if there is reason to believe they have been drinking been drinking after entering the pit area.

2. SPIN RULE: 2 spins allowed in heats and features

3. LINE UP ON BACK ROAD: If someone drops out of the race, the row will move up, not criss-cross. If a car is late lining up and the lineup is set, that car will go to the rear.

4. ANYONE WHO STOPS ON THE TRACK OR IN THE LINE UP AREA TO DISPUTE A CALL OR LINE-UP MAY BE PARKED FOR THE BALANCE OF THE EVENING.

5. ANYONE RACING THRU THE PITS, AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TECH OFFICIALS MAY BE PARKED FOR THE BALANCE OF THE NIGHT.

6. DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR PIT CREW. No open alcoholic beverages in the pits until ALL races are completed. NO FIGHTING. NO ILLEGAL DRUGS.

7. NO SMOKING AROUND THE FUEL TANK AREA: $100 fine may be assessed to violators.

8. HOBBY STOCK AND MINI STOCK DRIVERS: You must race in one division for 4 weeks before switching to a different class.

9. LATE MODEL AND MODIFIED drivers will not be allowed to compete in the Hobby Stock or Mini Stock classes during regular season.

10. HOBBY STOCK drivers will not be allowed to compete in the Mini Stock class during regular season.

11. TAX INFORMATION/REGISTRATION: All drivers must register. A $25 fee will be charged for each class. If the fee is not paid by your second night of racing at I-96 Speedway, it will be taken out of the payoff for that car. No driver is considered registered until fee is paid. Drivers will be responsible for making sure that all tax information is correct. A fee of $25 may be charged for any 1099 that requires changes due to driver/owner negligence. Any questions regarding tax information can be directed to Sue or Trish at the pit booth most race nights.

12. ANY DRIVER DISQUALIFIED will receive NO POINTS AND NO MONEY for the night.

13. All drivers should be in the pits or call into the track by 7:00 p.m. Those who arrive at the track after 7:00 p.m. will start in the tail of a heat race.

14. RESTARTS: All lapped cars will restart in the position which they were scored in the last completed lap.

15. NUMBERS: All cars must have numbers legible to the scorers, in contrasting color from the car. Numbers should be on both doors. Roof numbers are recommended. All cars must have the drivers name somewhere visible on the car. Minimum height is 18 inches tall with a 4 inch stroke.

16. NO RADIOS allowed in any class.

17. Line-ups for the 2007 season will be as follows: We will follow the IMCA format for most night, which mean line-ups will be done by point average. Exceptions include: Opening night will be draw/redraw for all classes. WoO Late Models night, Sunoco Late Model night will be draw/redraw for the late models. Questions concerning this should be directed to Sue at the pit booth prior to the evenings events beginning.

SAFETY:

An operational fire extinguisher with gauge MINIMUM 2 ½ LBS is mandatory in each race car and in each tow vehicle. Also mandatory: Extinguisher gauge must be visible for inspection purposes, and must be mounted with a quick release bracket. Duct tape is not acceptable as a mounting device.

Fire suit, approved helmet, unaltered neck restraint, Nomex gloves, window net (bolted on the bottom with a good safe fastener on top), a five (5) point seat belt, and a removable steering wheel are mandatory. Seat belts MUST fasten to the cage and MUST be 3 year old or newer. There must be a complete roll cage, subject to inspection.

Must have halo bar, drivers head with helmet, must not rise above the roll bars. Mandatory – must have a 1/8 inch steel or ¼ inch aluminum plate for driver’s door.

Track officials will make the final decision as to whether the car is legal and/or safe!!! Officials’ decisions will be final.
