New Late Model Series Coming in 09 - Dec 9, 2008
Posted by Mike Mouch

I-96 Speedway is very excited to announce that with the help of a great private sponsor, we have created a brand new series in Michigan. I-96 Speedway will be hosting the Ultimate Champion Late Model Series almost every Saturday night this upcoming season. This class consists of Crate Model 604 cars, and the series is affiliated with the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series. We have put a lot of thought into this and we are not going in lightly. We have a lot invested in this program and we are going to take his very seriously. We have put together a terrific points fund already consisting of a brand new engine, chassis, Trophy cup with all of the competing drivers names engraved in it, and at least $5000. There is also a national points fund of $150,00 plus that will be part of. This is just the beginning. We realize that times are tight right now, and we would hate to see the late model class diminish due to lack of finance. This is why we have decided to put together an affordable alternative to the standard late model racing which we all know is a very expensive hobby. The bonus is not only will the class be affordable, but it will also be fair, and that term has been used loosely in the past, but these are sealed motors, that are sealed with NeSmith bolts along with General Motors bolts, and they are tamper evident. I-96 Speedway does have extra motors of our own that will be swapped with anyone who is suspected of cheating. There are no exceptions. This means that the only advantage someone can have is their talent. The class also has an rpm chip that is mandatory that all drivers have to run, along with a 40 Hoosier to keep the cost down. We will witness some of the most fair and competitive racing around. So far we have purchased 21 motors. My Sponsor has selected some of the top drivers in Michigan to compete in this series. These drivers have committed to attending I-96 Speedway for every scheduled night that the UCLMS class competes. We have a very good start on a full field, but we are still looking to bring in a few more drivers. We have some great opportunities to get you one of these motors for your car. If you are interested in becoming a part of this extraordinary class, please Private message me and we can negotiate something. Please understand that this is a very serious and exciting opportunity for all involved. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me either at the speedway @ (616) 642-0555 or mike_mouch@yahoo.com. Please do not contact me via my website e-mail, there is a problem with my mail. There are still some minor things that are being worked out, but this is a definite thing coming in 2009. Everything on here is set in stone. Please try to keep an open mind and imagine the possibilities of what this could mean for late model racing in Michigan. From my experience in talking to a few other promoters, this may not be too far off for many other tracks. It will no longer be about who has the money to put into a car, but instead, who has the talent behind the wheel. Below is a list of drivers that have committed to this series.
