The weather finally cooperated with racing at I-96 Speedway Saturday night. A great night of
racing was had for fans and drivers alike. Features winners were: J.R. Schmid in the IMCA
style modifies, Rick Stout in the Ultimate Champion Late Models, Nick Nelson in the Mini
Sprints, Todd Feutz in the U.M.P Modifies, Jordan Bailey in the Road Beaters, and A.J. Ward in
the Street Stocks.
Bry Sloan and Scott Baker brought the Ultimate Champion Late Models down for the green
flag. Baker would jump out into the early lead. As the field was coming down to complete lap
one Roger Wing spun out in turn four collecting Randy Ruesink, Jeff Sherwood, Dave Harris,
and Bill Bray. Wing, Sherwood, and Bray could not continue. Back under green Baker would
begin to pull away from Rick Stout as he had worked his way up to second. Lap six brought
out the caution was again.
After the restart Baker was unable to continue and pulled off on the back stretch and handed
over the lead to the current point leader Rick Stout. Stout would check out on the field. Lap

was unable to get around him and Stout would go on to win his fourth feature of the year
over: Nugent, Kris Patterson, Bry Sloan, Scott Ehlert, Trever Sloan, Ruesink, Rodney
Patterson, Harris, Gary Bowerman, Troy Sloan, Baker, Bray, Kris Patterson Jr., Sherwood, and

Back under green Mark Anderson would take away the second spot. Anderson and Feutz would
run nose to tail but Feutz was running the preferred line not making any mistakes so Anderson
could not get around. Meanwhile Marc Kurth was moving up through the field making his way
up to third on lap twelve.
Lap thirteen Feutz was into lap traffic. This gave Feutz an advantage and began to pull farther
away from Anderson. Kurth caught Anderson on lap seventeen and made the pass for second

second behind Feutz. Third was Kurth followed by, Shannon Fisk, Jacob Poel, Ken Smith,
Travis Stemler, James Kimmel, Tim Stemler, Justin Fleming rounded out the top ten. Heats
were won by Olger, Poel, and Kurth.

mile track. Hale would begin to go to work trying to run away from the field but was stopped
on lap two from a caution. Back under way Hale would put some distance between him and
the rest of the field. On lap thirteen the yellow flag flew and Hale went to the pits and would
put J.R. Schmid into the lead. Schmid would go on to win the race followed by Dan Minikey Jr.,
