MOTORCYCLE RULES AND FAQ’S
RULES AND FAQ’S FOR MOTORCYCLES WHILE AT I-96 SPEEDWAY
I-96 Speedway operates under AMA rules. Please read the rule book or visit http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/racing/rules for more information!
If you’re not at least 18 years old, your parent or LEGAL guardian (This does not mean your uncle, your friend’s dad, or the guy down the street ) must be here to sign you up, and must stay while you’re riding. If your guardian can’t attend, you can bring a NOTARIZED consent form from your parent, assigning another adult as your temporary guardian for the day. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THE NOTE UNLESS IT IS NOTARIZED!
THIS IS WHAT THE NOTARIZED LETTER MUST SAY:
“I assign and authorize ____guardian’s name____to be my child your name here______’s legal gueardian on date(s)_______, 2012 at I-96 Speedway Motocross track while my child races or rides their motorcycle. In addition, I authorize gueardian’s name___ to complete all necessary registration forms and to act and sign as my child’s guardian. I also authorize them to make emergency medical decisions for my child if the event arises.”
GENERAL RULES: No bikes or ATV’s allowed in the grandstand area beyond the winner’s circle. Bikes and ATV’s must stay at first gear idle while in the pit area or anywhere other than the track.
WE DO PROVIDE FREE RUSTIC CAMPING!
No engines started before 9am or after 11 pm (unless a race is still in progress)
Equipment Requirements: Helmet, goggles, long pants, long sleeves,
over-the-ankle boots; gloves & chest protector recommended.
Quads must have a tether kill switch and nerf bars.
ABSOLUTELY NO DRINKING IN THE PITS WHILE RACES ARE IN PROGRESS! If you would like to drink alcoholic beverages while watching the races, you are more than welcome to do so in the grandstand area. Once all races are complete you are more than welcome to partake in drinking at your pit.
Small campfires are allowed, we ask that you not burn anything that will not burn entirely. Please clean up after yourselves.
Pets are welcome! You must check them in when you check in. There is no charge for this. We do require them to be on a leash at ALL times!
Where to sit, and how to watch the races…
I-96 Speedway is an event facilty, therefore we do have grandstands that accomidate up to 6,800 people! There will be plenty of room to sit and watch your favorite rider on the track! The best part is you can see the entire track from most areas of the grandstands!
Handicap Access:
We do have a handicap wheel chair ramp and deck to view the track. There are handicap restrooms in the spectator area as well as handicap parking.
Food and restrooms
We do have concessions open for all races and we will be happy to fire up the grill on practice days too! We have excellent food! Freshly GRILLED Burgers, Kielbasa, Hot Dogs, Fried Foods, and plenty of snacks and drinks all at reasonable prices!
We also sell Miller Beer Products! (You must be over 21 to purchase them, and we will require a picture id!)
You can bring coolers with food and drinks, but absolutely no glass containers!
There are real and recently remodeled restrooms located on the midway by the main grandstands right next to the playground. There are also restrooms in the pit area for easy access for the riders.
We also have a large fenced in playground for the kids! This will definitely provide some entertainment during those long days at the track!
We want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe time! Please respect other riders and attendants. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them!
