SCCA Rallycross National Challenge Series / Great Lakes National Challenge THIS Friday-Sunday, July 19-21st


The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Rallycross National Challenge Series comes to I-96 Speedway on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 19-21st as these competitors will utilize both the 1/2 (0.500) and 3/8 (0.375) mile high-banked dirt ovals in different configurations for the event in an action packed weekend. The track can be wicked slick if wet but catch the moisture right and it can be faster than pavement! There is free camping onsite both Friday and Saturday nights with a Region Sponsored party Saturday night after the event.

Friday, July 19
7:00-9:00pm Onsite registration
7:30-9:00pm Onsite tech
9:00-11:00pm Onsite bonfire in the campground (camping is free but no hookups)
Saturday, July 20
8:00-10:45am Onsite registration
8:00-11:15am Tech
9:00-10:00am Course open for walking
10:00-11:15am Test and Tune session – $5 per run or 5 runs for $20, 5 runs max per entrant (time permitting), must be registered and passed tech, Test and Tune course will be similar in design to the course during the first run session and will be on the same surface
11:15-11:45 Class inspection
11:30-noon Lunch provided by Detroit Region SCCA
High Noon Driver’s meeting
End of driver’s meeting 1st run session, 4 runs per entrant, classes run as announced at the driver’s meeting. All entrants must work as assigned at the driver’s meeting.
End of 1st run session ~1 hour break to change course, followed by 2nd run session, 4 runs per entrant, classes run as announced at the driver’s meeting. (Pending the time of day when course setup is finished, there may be no time for walking the course. All drivers will
get a parade lap at the beginning of their run group.)
End of 2nd run session Saturday Night Party sponsored by the Test and Tune session. All registered entrants and workers – free, guest tickets available – $20, also Sunday course setup

Sunday, July 21

8:00-8:45am Course open for walking
8:45am Driver’s meeting
9:00am 3rd run session, 6 runs per entrant. Entrants must work as assigned
~12:00pm Finish 3rd run session, clean up course after clean up Lunch and Awards provided by Detroit Region SCCA
