This was the outlaws first and only stop in the wolverine state for the entire 2013 campaign. The five- time and defending series champion Donny Schatz and current points leader Darren Pittman brought the field to green.

Schatz pulled out to the early lead, and remained there until lap 22 where he would falter coming out of turn 2 and allow Shane Stewart take over the top spot. However the very next lap Paul McMahon would manage to maneuver his way and take the lead away on lap 24 and would continue on to the checkered flag. This would be the third victory of the season for McMahan in his CJB Motorsports / GF1 Chassis.

Schatz would end up settling for second, Joey Saldana was third. While Craig Dollansky and Jason Sides made up the rest of the top five. Kerry Madsen was sixth; Kraig Kinser, Sammy Swindell, David Gravel, and Steve Kinser completed the top ten. McMahon set fast time in Qualifying with at new track record speed of 14.731. The heat races were won by Schatz, Madsen, and Stewart.

Then it was time for the Carbon Green Bio-Energy UMP Modifieds to hit the racing surface for their 20-lap feature with the front row made up of John McCaul and Dave Baker. Baker would lead the opening lap, and would show the way until lap 4. That is when the 2011 I-96 Speedway track champion Jacob Poel would find his way to the front and would the rest of the event to pick up his second victory at I-96 in 2013.

Poel went to the P.A.T. Landscaping Victory Lane in his Poel’s Pro-Act Welding & Fabrication / Rocket Chassis.
